The battle for the title of top airplane maker between Boeing and Airbus appears to be heating up. Boeing is expected to get an order of more than 100 jets from IranAir. The order would match another order the airline placed with Airbus earlier this year. IranAir’s chairman said that the company needs at least 300 aircraft in the next decade. It is also possible that Boeing may provide support for the airline’s aging fleet, according to published reports. The potential deals come just as economic sanctions on Iran are being lifted. Completion of any deal is subject to mix of financial and regulatory details being settled.
